The idea behind Rebel Square was born 2,600 metres up a snowy mountain after a one-hour hike and during a 10-minute backpack lunch break.  The draw to spend more time immersed in the environment I loved was just too great so there and then I decided that I had to be involved and earn a living from winter sports.

I knew it had to be based around the experience I had in ski and snowboard base technology, care and maintenance so that narrowed the options down further and during a creative night in a local après bar we had the bones of Rebel Square on a few napkins and the logo on a beer mat.

Our first trade partner came from a desire to associate with the best in the industry and no one was enjoying better reviews than Butta.  Jim (the man behind Butta) had approached the manufacture of ski and snowboard wax without compromise.  In fact, all Butta products had to be class leading, as environmentally friendly as possible and great value.  I look forward to enjoying a great association with Butta for many years to come.

After Butta we set out to get the rest of the best and now have added these great brands to our range.

Datawax, Demon, Kunzmann, SkiMan and Beaver Wax are all class leaders in innovation, knowledge, quality or market so that's why we have them on board.

Our products are selected from all around the world - UK, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Canada and Japan.

So, here we are now and the plan for the future is very simple.

Rebel Square will have fun in working hard and helping our customers enjoy their winter sports. We will strive to have the most current and forward-thinking business partners.

Yes we want to make a profit but it doesn't have to be big, just enough to take us to the mountains a couple of times a year will do!

We are based in Newcastle upon Tyne and just online at the moment but if all goes to plan, we will have a small shop just off the A1 but don't worry, we will REALLY shout about it when it opens.
